Weight Watchers Simply the Best:
250 Prizewinning Family Recipes

International Weight Watchers has been around for many years now and has proved to be a hugely successful diet program that centers on a balance of exercise, low fat nutrition and guidance.

Food is allotted a points score and Weight Watchers members use a points calculator and a wide range of recipes provided by the program.

Members also attend local counseling sessions to get both ideas and advice and to assist with the lifestyle changes that accompany any dieting program. Members also have access to online support as well as online calculators and menus.

To further assist members, Weight Watchers make their own line of meals which you can purchase at a lot of the larger grocery chains.

A points score is allocated to foods based upon the size of the portion, the calories that portion contains, the amount of fiber and the amount of fat contained in every serving. In general, foods which are high in fat have a high points score and foods which are high in fiber have a low points score. A dieter's daily allowance is then dependent on things like his or her body weight and the desired weight loss.

The points formula is:

weight watchers formula

Where: p = Points | c = Calories | f = Fat Grams | r = Dietary fiber Grams

(Note: when considering the term (min{r, 4}) no more than 4 grams of fiber are used in the calculation. For example, if the actual dietary figure is less than 4 then this figure is used, but, if the figure is more than 4 then 4 is used.

Here we have given some examples of the points scores given to particular foods:
