International Weight Watchers has been with us for a long time now and has proved itself to be an incredibly successful diet program that revolves around balancing low fat nutrition, exercise and counseling.
Food items are given a points score and Weight Watchers members then use a points calculator and hundreds of great recipes that are provided by the program. A points score is allocated to a variety of foods according to the portion size, the number of calories, the amount of fiber and the amount of fat in each serving. Normally, high fat foods have a high points score and high fiber foods have a low points score. The daily allowance for dieters then depends on things like body weight and how much weight he or she wants to lose.
The formula for calculating a points value is:

Where: p = Points | c = Calories | f = Fat Grams | r = Dietary fiber Grams
(Note: when considering the term (min{r, 4}) a maximum of 4 grams of fiber are used in the calculation. For example, if the actual dietary figure is lower than 4 this figure is used, but, where the figure is greater than 4 then 4 is used.
