Weight Watchers Family Power:
5 Simple Rules for a Healthy-Weight Home

International Weight Watchers has been around for many years now and has proved to be a hugely successful commercial diet program which focuses on balancing low fat nutrition, exercise and guidance.

A wide range of different foods are assigned a points score and Weight Watchers members make use of a points calculator and hundreds of easy to follow recipes which are provided by the program.

Members also attend counseling session in their local area to get ideas and advice and to help with the lifestyle changes which accompany not just this but any dieting plan. Members can also get online support and online menus and points calculators.

As well, Weight Watchers produce their own range of meals which you can purchase at a number of the larger grocery chains.

A points score is assigned to various foods based upon the portion size, the calories that portion contains, the amount of fiber and the amount of fat contained in every serving. Usually, foods which are high in fat have a high points score and foods which are high in fiber have a low points score. A dieter's daily allowance is then dependent on things like his or her body weight and how much weight he or she wants to lose.

The formula used to calculate a points score is as follows:

weight watchers formula

Where: p = Points | c = Calories | f = Fat Grams | r = Dietary fiber Grams

(Please note: in the term (min{r, 4}) no more than 4 grams of fiber are used in the calculation. That means that, if the actual dietary figure is less than 4 this figure is used, however, if the figure is over 4 then 4 is used.

Below we have given a few examples of the points given to particular foods:

7 Sure-Fire Ways To Lose Weight - By NOT Dieting
I consider myself to be an expert at dieting. For over 33 years I have managed to fail at every diet I have ever tried. Was it me or was it the diet?

Say Goodbye to Jiggling Layers of Excess Skin
One of the saddest side effects of obesity is the restrictions posed on what one can wear. With layers of fat jiggling and bouncing anywhere and everywhere, wearing just anything becomes a distant dream. Change how things stand by leading a healthy, fat-free life.

Are You Ready To Lose Weight Now
Weight loss attempts can be very rewarding and successful, but only a fraction of us who are ready to lose weight seldom succeed. I know it can be compared to smoking and alcohol cessation, can be very difficult and often results in failure. We have been living this lifestyle for years and are in a comfort zone, try and take this away from us and chaos follows. Like the two other addictions mentioned above, long term over eating and gaining excess weight go hand in hand. Taking steps to alleviate that problem will be hard. Just plain hard. But, what you read below, may help!

Healthy Eating Is a Key to Losing Weight
Most people do not have to go on that starvation diet or any current fad diet that appears on the local television news each night. Losing weight can be broken down into a simple concept. The more calories you eat than you burn, you gain weight. The fewer calories you eat than you burn, you lose weight. It is that simple. People may think that this concept cannot be this simple, but it is true.
