Weight Watchers New 365 Day Menu Cookbook:
Complete Meals for Every Day of the Year

International Weight Watchers has been around for many years now and has proved itself to be an incredibly successful diet program which concentrates on balancing low fat nutrition, exercise and guidance.

Food items are given a points score and Weight Watchers members then make use of a points calculator and recipes which are provided by the program.

Participants also attend counseling session in their local area to get both ideas and advice and to help with the changes in lifestyle which accompany any dieting plan. Members are also provided with online support together with online menus and calculators.

As well, Weight Watchers make their own line of meals which may be purchased through a lot of the bigger grocery chains.

A points score is allocated to foods based upon the portion size, the calories that portion contains, the quantity of fiber and the quantity of fat in every serving. In general, high fat foods will have a high points score and high fiber foods will have a low points score. A dieter's daily allowance is then dependent on such things as body weight and target weight.

The formula used to calculate a points score is as follows:

weight watchers formula

Where: p = Points | c = Calories | f = Fat Grams | r = Dietary fiber Grams

(Note: when considering the term (min{r, 4}) a maximum of 4 grams of fiber are used in the calculation. For instance, if the actual figure is under 4 this figure is used, however, where the figure is more than 4 then 4 is used.

Here are a few examples of the points scores assigned to particular foods:
