Weight Watchers New Complete Cookbook

International Weight Watchers has been around for a long time now and has proved to be a very successful commercial diet program that focuses on balancing exercise, low fat nutrition and guidance.

A wide range of different foods are given a points value and Weight Watchers members make use of a points calculator and hundreds of great recipes provided by the program.

Members are also encouraged to attend counseling session in their local area for both ideas and advice and to assist with the changes in lifestyle that accompany not just this but any dieting plan. Members are also provided with online support as well as online points calculators and menus.

As if this were not enough, Weight Watchers have their own range of meals which may be purchased through a number of the bigger grocery chains.

A points value is allocated to foods according to the size of the portion, the calories that portion contains, the quantity of fiber and the amount of fat in each serving. In general, high fat foods have a high points value and foods which are high in fiber have a low points value. A dieter's daily allowance is then dependent upon things like body weight and target weight.

The points formula is as follows:

weight watchers formula

Where: p = Points | c = Calories | f = Fat Grams | r = Dietary fiber Grams

(Please note: when considering the term (min{r, 4}) no more than 4 grams of fiber are used in the calculation. For instance, if the actual dietary figure is lower than 4 this figure is used, however, where the figure is greater than 4 then 4 is used.

Here are just a few examples of the points given to certain foods:
