Weight Watchers has been about for many years now and is a very successful commercial diet program that revolves around a balance of low fat nutrition, exercise and counseling.

Food items are allotted a points score and Weight Watchers members make use of a points calculator and simple to follow recipes that are provided by the program.

The formula used to calculate a points score is:

Where: p = Points | c = Calories | f = Fat Grams | r = Dietary fiber Grams

(Note: when considering the term (min{r, 4}) a maximum of 4 grams of fiber are used in the calculation. For instance, if the actual dietary figure is under 4 then this figure is used, however, where the figure is more than 4 then 4 is used.
