Weight Watchers New Complete Cookbook
ipaq weight watchers journal. Weight Watchers has been with us for many years now and is a most successful commercial diet program which focuses on a balance of counseling, exercise and low fat nutrition.
|
Food is allotted a points value and members use a points "calculator" and recipes provided by the program.
Members are further encouraged to drop in on counseling sessions in their area for ideas and advice and to help with the lifestyle changes that are inevitably associated with any dieting program. There is also online support, along with online calculators, recipes and menus.
As if this were not enough, Weight Watchers create their own assortment of meals which may be bought in many of the larger grocery stores.
A points value is assigned to foods calculated from the number of calories, the amount of fiber, the size of the portion and the quantity of fat in each serving. Generall speaking, foods that are high in fat have a high points value and foods that are high in fiber have a low points value. The daily allowance for dieters then depends upon things like body weight and the desired weight loss.
The points formula is:

Where: p = Points | c = Calories | f = Fat Grams | r = Dietary fiber Grams
(Note: in the term (minr, 4) a maximum of 4 grams of fiber is used in the calculation. This means that, if the actual dietary figure is less than 4 this figure is used, however, wherever the figure is greater than 4 then 4 is used.
Here are various examples of the points given to particular foods:
