Weight Watchers Simply the Best: 250 Prizewinning Family Recipes
i need a free weight watchers point book. Weight Watchers has been about for a great many years now and is a very successful diet program which focuses on a balance of exercise, counseling and low fat nutrition.
|
Food is allotted a points value and members use recipes and a points "calculator" provided by the program.
Members are also encouraged to visit counseling sessions held locally for advice and ideas and to assist with the lifestyle changes which accompany any diet program. There is also online support, in addition to online calculators, recipes and menus.
Additionally, Weight Watchers produce their own line of meals which may be purchased at many larger grocery stores.
The points value given to various different foods is based upon the quantity of fat, the size of the portion, the amount of fiber and the number of calories in each serving. As a rule, high fat equals high points and high fiber equals low points. The daily allowance for members is then dependent upon such things as body weight and the desired weight loss.
The points formula is:

Where: p = Points | c = Calories | f = Fat Grams | r = Dietary fiber Grams
(Note: in the term (minr, 4) a maximum of 4 grams of fiber is used in the calculation. This means that, if the actual dietary figure is less than 4 this figure is used, but, if the figure is larger than 4 then 4 is used.
Here are several examples of the points given to particular foods:
