how many weight watchers points do i need. Weight Watchers has been with us for a very long time now and is a hugely successful commercial diet program that focuses on a balance of counseling, exercise and low fat nutrition.

Different foods are allotted a points value and members use recipes and a points "calculator" provided by the program.
Members are further encouraged to drop in on counseling sessions held locally for advice and ideas and to help with the lifestyle changes which naturally accompany any diet program. There is also online support, along with online recipes, calculators and menus.
As if this were not enough, Weight Watchers make their own line of meals which may be bought in a variety of larger grocery stores.
The points value assigned to foods is calculated from the quantity of fat, the amount of fiber, the size of the portion and the number of calories in each serving. Generall speaking, high fat equals high points and high fiber equals low points. The daily allowance for members is then dependent upon things like body weight and the desired weight loss.
The points formula used is:

Where: p = Points | c = Calories | f = Fat Grams | r = Dietary fiber Grams
(Note: in the term (minr, 4) a maximum of 4 grams of fiber is used in the calculation. This means that, if the actual dietary figure is less than 4 this figure is used, but, wherever the figure is larger than 4 then 4 is used.
