How Many Weight Watchers Points Am I Allowed Per Day
Weight Watchers has been around for many years and has proved to be a hugely successful commercial diet program which focuses on a balance of low fat nutrition, exercise and counseling.
A wide range of different foods are given a points score and Weight Watchers members then use a points calculator and simple to follow recipes which are provided by the program. Members also attend counseling sessions locally for advice and ideas and to assist with the lifestyle changes which accompany any dieting plan. There is also online support and online points calculators and menus.
As if this were not enough, Weight Watchers produce their own line of meals that may be purchased through a lot of the bigger grocery chains.
A points score is given to various foods based upon the size of the portion, the calories that portion contains, the quantity of fiber and the amount of fat contained in each serving. Normally, foods which are high in fat will have a high points score and high fiber foods will have a low points score. The daily allowance for dieters then depends on things like body weight and target weight.
The formula used to calculate a points score is as follows:

Where: p = Points | c = Calories | f = Fat Grams | r = Dietary fiber Grams
(Please note: in the term (min{r, 4}) no more than 4 grams of fiber are used in the calculation. In other words, if the actual figure is under 4 this figure is used, however, where the figure is over 4 then 4 is used.
