Weight Watchers New Complete Cookbook

how many calories equal using weight watchers points. Weight Watchers has been with us for a great many years now and is an extremely successful commercial diet program that focuses on a balance of low fat nutrition, exercise and counseling.

Food is given a points value and members use a points "calculator" and recipes provided by the program.

Members are further encouraged to drop in on local counseling sessions for ideas and advice and to help with the changes in lifestyle that accompany any dieting program. Online support is also available, along with online calculators, menus and recipes.

Furthermore, Weight Watchers make their own line of meals that may be purchased in many of the larger grocery stores.

A points value is assigned to foods calculated from the quantity of fat, the size of the portion, the amount of fiber and the number of calories in each serving. As a general rule, high fat equals high points and high fiber equals low points. The daily allowance for dieters is then dependent upon things like body weight and the desired weight loss.

The points formula looks like this:

Where: p = Points | c = Calories | f = Fat Grams | r = Dietary fiber Grams

(Note: in the term (minr, 4) a maximum of 4 grams of fiber is used in the calculation. This means that, if the actual dietary figure is less than 4 this figure is used, however, wherever the figure is bigger than 4 then 4 is used.

Here are a variety of examples of the points given to specific foods:
