free weight watchers point values. Weight Watchers has been about for a very long time now and is a very successful diet program which focuses on a balance of exercise, low fat nutrition and counseling.

Different foods are given a points value and members use recipes and a points "calculator" provided by the program.

Members are further encouraged to attend counseling sessions held locally for advice and ideas and to help with the changes in lifestyle that are part of any dieting program. Online help is also provided, along with online recipes, calculators and menus.

Additionally, Weight Watchers have their own line of meals that may be purchased through many larger grocery chains.

The points value assigned to foods is calculated from the number of calories, the size of the portion, the quantity of fat and the amount of fiber in each serving. As a rule, high fat foods have a high points value and high fiber foods have a low points value. The daily allowance for members then depends upon such things as body weight and the desired weight loss.

The points formula looks like this:

weight watchers plan

Where: p = Points | c = Calories | f = Fat Grams | r = Dietary fiber Grams

(Note: in the term (minr, 4) a maximum of 4 grams of fiber is used in the calculation. This means that, if the actual figure is less than 4 this figure is used, however, when the figure is bigger than 4 then 4 is used.

Here are various examples of the points assigned to particular foods:
