Weight Watchers New 365 Day Menu Cookbook:
Complete Meals for Every Day of the Year

Weight Watchers has been with us for many years and has proved itself to be a hugely successful diet program that focuses on a balance of low fat nutrition, exercise and counseling.

Different foods are allotted a points value and Weight Watchers members make use of a points calculator and hundreds of great recipes that are provided by the program.

Members also attend local counseling sessions for both advice and ideas and to assist with the changes in lifestyle that go along with not just this but any dieting plan. Members also have access to online support as well as online menus and points calculators.

As if this were not enough, Weight Watchers make their own line of meals that you can get through a lot of the bigger grocery chains.

A points value is assigned to a variety of foods based upon the size of the portion, the number of calories, the quantity of fiber and the quantity of fat contained in every serving. Normally, high fat foods have a high points value and high fiber foods have a low points value. The daily allowance for dieters is then dependent upon things like body weight and amount of weight loss he or she wishes to achieve.

The formula for calculating a points value is:

weight watchers formula

Where: p = Points | c = Calories | f = Fat Grams | r = Dietary fiber Grams

(Note: when considering the term (min{r, 4}) no more than 4 grams of fiber are used in the calculation. For example, if the actual figure is lower than 4 this figure is used, but, where the figure is greater than 4 then 4 is used.

Below you can see a few examples of the points values given to certain foods:
